For that extra little bit of security when posting confidential information, a PIN label serves in many applications to provide a code of alphanumeric combination which is as a rule hidden and has to be damaged to reveal its information. PIN letters are often sent in conjunction with credit cards, debit cards, SIM cards or online access codes.
Our PHS series is put together in a modular way and ensures the secure generation; attachment and packing of PIN letters and can reach different levels of security depending on the given application.
The label, optionally made from paper or from Voidfoil, is removed for the reading of the PIN either by tearing the perforated grab-tab or by pulling the top layer of the foil label off with help of the provided tab. By peeling away the label, a hidden message reveals itself and a primary opening is thus clearly indicated. With both label variants it is impossible to read the concealed message by using a light source of any kind.
The PIN-coverings consist of a transparent film with an imprinted scratch coating. A very complicated security kisscutting method prevents the removal of the label and its reapplication without this act being noticed. An illumination through the scratch coat with a bright source of light is not possible because the scratch coat is completely opaque.
The void labels are stuck over the number with adhesive thus securely cover and hide the PIN. The void effect which is integrated in this label appears first when a manipulation attempt takes place. The label can be provided with one or several scratch coats, the void effect can be freely chosen, and also the colour of the Voidfoil can be matched to the customer`s requirements.
With this label it is a question of a 2-label system. The lower label becomes glued onto the covering letter, and then the PIN is printed onto the lower label and is sealed then with the upper label. For the reading of the PIN the scratch field is simply exposed.
The upper label consists of a freely-selected void foil and also the scratch field can be designed freely (e.g. with a customer-specific hologram). This form of the PIN protection is completely secure and was classified according to the APACS Standard 72 at the highest security level.
– modular systems for flexible processing –
PHS – version TS
Special Thermoseal® paper is printed, folded and sealed around with the aid of heat. It can be used optionally as U-folded or letter-folded. The connection of online laser printing systems is contained in the standard – but the system can be operated also in an off-line way.
1. The letter is printed on Thermoseal® paper.
2. The letter is folded and thermo-sealed.
3. one time fold
4. c fold
PIN Single Label
PHS – version SL
The system uses standard laser paper. The back of the paper has been provided with a specific matrix. As soon as a label is attached over the PIN, the PIN is no longer visible from the back.
One or more security labels may be attached also to the cover letter. The printing of the layout occurs by means of laser printing. Optionally one can fold the cover letter after that and enclose it in an envelope.
1. The letter is printed.
The PIN isn’t visible thanks to the special Matrix on the back of the paper.
2. The securitylabels get dispensed onto the letter.
A variable count of labels can be dispensed onto letters.
3. Optional, the letter can be folded and enveloped later on.
PIN thermo-sealed with additional label
PHS – version TSL
Special Thermoseal® paper is printed in the laser printer. The printed PIN number is covered with a security label. After that the letter is folded and sealed with the aid of applied heat. An unauthorized intervention without visible traces is almost impossible.
1. The letter is printed on special Thermoseal® paper.
2. The securitylabel is dispensed onto the letter.
3. The letter is folded and thermo-sealed®.
PIN Double Label
PHS – version DL
The cover letter is printed and the first label is put on that. It is possible that several labels (PIN & TAN) can be dispensed. In the second step the PIN-number is printed onto the label. Immediately following the printing of the PIN number the second label is attached over the PIN number. The PIN is now no longer visible and s locked completely securely between the two labels.
1. The letter is printed, the first label is dispensed onto the letter.
There can be multiple labels for different PINs / TANs on a letter.
2. In the second step the first PIN is printed onto the letter.
3. Immediatly after printing the PIN a second label is dispensed onto the PIN to cover it.
Card Carrier with PIN & label
PHS – version CCL
Cover letters are printed and a PIN which is covered by means of a security label is put on them. Then the corresponding card is dispensed onto the document. The shipment is enveloped and offers a final cheap dispatch possibility as a combination of card and PIN mailing.
1. The letter and the PIN are printed in one process. THe PIN is locked for the owner. The card and the letter aren’t yet activated.
2. A securitylabel is dispensed onto the letter to protect the PIN. The card is also dispensed.
3. The letter is folded and enveloped. The Barcode is visible through the window.
4. The cardowner has to proof his identiy to the financial institue.
The card and PIN are activated via Telephone through an employee.
As an alternative a barcode can be scanned, that is linked to the central so the card and PIN get activated.
