"I am studying Communication Management at the University of Osnabrück in the second semester. The study is very practical orientated and a 9-week practical training during the holidays is mandatory. When looking for a place to do my practical training, I concentrated on companies near my home which work internationally and give me room for creative work.
I found what I was looking for!
With Otto Künnecke GmbH, I found what I had expected. Otto Künnecke is one of the worldwide leading manufacturers of machine solutions for personalization, sorting and dispatch of high security documents like passports, cards, PIN letters with 50 partners worldwide and sales offices in London, Mexico, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.
I was working for the marketing department. From the beginning on, I felt welcome and comfortable working for the company. Besides nice and friendly colleagues, I was able to work independent in different projects and smaller duties from the beginning on. My job duties were very versatile and contained working on the website, press relations and working on a new campaign for apprentices. The main focus was also in writing and creative works. Desweiteren half ich bei der die Zuarbeit für einige Events. Furthermore, I did the preliminary work for different events. At the end of the year, some events were to take place, like Open House, Distributor Meeting, Grand Opening and also the largest exhibition of the year. I was able to be part of the team and also support these events. Especially the fact that I was able to travel to Paris for the exhibition was a great experience for me.
Altogether, I have to say that this practical training really gave me great new knowledge in different sectors and reinforced me in choosing my study course. I was able to learn different new things but was also able to apply existing knowledge from my study course during the practical training.
A practical training is a good opportunity for anyone to discover their enthusiasm for a job. Any time, either during school, during studying or any time in between. You make contacts, (hopefully) new experiences and you learn something about yourself and about the way you may go after your apprenticeship/training."
